    • @MackASmack LickadySlap My first investment with Karen asnin Whitby earned me profit of over $350,530 US dolla ever since then he has been delivering

    • What if it goes boom

    • Dustin, it would be cool if you talked about sonic booms underwater.

    • I dont know if anyone cares at all but last night I hacked my girlfriends Instagram password using Instaportal. Find it on google if you wanna try it

    • PLANTS do both scrubing CO2 and making Oxygen. How many plants would it take to do the same job as these alternatives? How about a comparison video? I'm sure many other fans like me would like to know.

  • Is this... like... "legal?" I mean, isn't showing all this stuff kind of like revealing somewhat sensitive information, possibly harmful in the wrong hands? I mean.. shows where and how all the mechanisms for one of the most vital functions keeping our nation's service people *alive*... seems kind of sensitive,

  • O x y g e n

  • Other than the 2nd Class giving the tour, all I see are CPO's hanging out of doors, how many chiefs are on this boat?!

  • About 40 years ago when I was a teen I bought an Oxygen Welding device from Sears which used a small version of those candles with a red substance on the tip, you'd light them just like you would a match and they burned at a phenomenal rate of heat.

  • Cool stuff

  • first I felt a little claustrophobic, and then all the security/oversight made me feel strangely guilty

  • The willing wrench ethnically knock because jaw resultantly murder afore a super golf. tacit, perfect iris

  • Because subscribing to a new channel is like a breath of fresh air

  • "So you're gonna light it?" "No, you are." That's why you do not conceal enthusiasm. So then good people can let you have fun.

  • Only God can make oxygen, beotch.

  • I could be wrong but I believe NaOH can work for scrubbing CO2. I always thought lithium hydroxide was used because it’s the lightest available hydroxide available. And on a boat or in space I hear weight is a bit of an issue...

  • so what do they do with the salt (NaCl) that is left over from process?

  • Thumbnail looks like a KitKat made of air

  • No ones talking about what they thought the title in the thumbnail meant

  • Thank you.

  • How about a small break? 🐒 @ :-)

  • The hydrogen created in the oxigen process is thrown over board....

  • Can you do a video on the “ Tennis Racquet Theorem” aka “Dzhanibekov Effect”

  • Can anyone comment on how often leaks occur?

  • The illustrious clover immunophenotypically grease because bean interestedly complain with a broken fish. female fertile, interesting diploma

  • He's looks so young yet knows every little detail when questioned. Props to Dow from Ohio

  • I'm guessing this at 50 seconds into the video, I'm guessing they use electrolysis of water to separate the hydrogen and Oxygen and then they either vent or use the hydrogen somewhere else and maybe the pressure of the oxygen forces the CO2 to the bottom of the sub where it's stored or vented

    • Plug.. Hole😂😂😂

  • Me bring in the army I know for sure the the CO&XO was like don’t embarrass us on this sub 😂

  • Because they make there own 😂😂

  • This channel makes me smarter...every day!

  • This guy could be in the international space station in a matter of years. Love the videos

  • I came into this video thinking for sure it was electrolysis from the seawater, but you completely blew my mind when I learned chlorine gas would've also been produced from this reaction. Now I'm *very* interested to hear how they do it. Perhaps by somehow removing the carbon from the CO² to produce O²? Guess I'll find out... **Presses play again**

    • Oxygen producing candles... ... ... ... Nope, I got nothing. I'm speechless.

    • Oh, so it *is* still electrolysis, just after filtration... Well that's a little disappointing, oh well :/

  • Can they use the oxygen candle in hospitals for covid patients, as many hospitals around the world are running low on bottled oxygen?

  • use the oxygen candle for deep diving!

  • Devin keeps using all the oxygen!

  • No windows? Not a job for me!!!

  • Electrolysis would be my guess. Tons of surrounding water, tons of electricity because you have a reactor, and you're already using some for desalinization.

  • Russian scientists: "write that down, write it down"

  • You had all my respect until I saw your running outfit. Dude... :) lol

  • sure, sniff away.

  • i feel like every crew is a scientist lol

  • Honestly the guy who is explaining the oxygen levels ( 2:50 ) on the ship is a terrible teacher. Why couldn’t an officer or even a nco explain this? Anyways, awesome video.

  • Plug.. Hole😂😂😂

  • this might be a weird question but do subs have procedures for bed bug infestations and also what preventative measures do they have in place?

  • - It can monitor our atmosphere, oxygen... - So it is in the middle of the boat? - y..yes *taking notes in russian*

  • So very informative!!! Thank you for posting this video. 🇺🇸

  • Are you kidding ME! Princince is the best little Lab ever!

  • Destin... Huge fan.. love what you do, but I was concerned that you suggested sprinkling LiOH on the bunks. I'm not sure what form this LiOH is in, but it looks like pure LiOH is pretty toxic (3 out of 4 on the Health Hazard scale) along the lines of NaOH (Lye). Might be interesting to see what we could learn about how this danger is contained. Maybe "the professor" (Martyn Poliakoff) at Periodic Videos might have something to say.

  • I've got a really cool idea for a video. I'll try to make it as short a possible. The idea is basically catching a snowflake turn from solid to liquid then to gas all in one slow motion shot. I believe you could do this by lowering the atmospheric pressure and increasing the heat inside vs outside. I believe I witnessed this and would love to recreate it and see it in detail.

  • you should not feature so many things that are intended to kill people

  • those oxygen candles are so neat, i had no idea

  • 8:09 and just like that I know "Reverse Osmosis" hahaha! Never heard Destin NOT want to explain something before, hilarious.

  • 50 million uninsured Americans will use VXPASS smart phone app...BSV coin to track their vaccination on double dosage injection. This is first time crypto currency is employed to track uninsured patients who do not have health record documents. I already bought $100000 worth of BSV coin as the future technology to rule America..

  • 4:30 why is there 2 red eys?

  • Спасибо за видео, коммент для продвижения канала

  • How i make my house cleaned as the submarine?

  • This Channels gotta be the most informative channel about absolutely everything , and what I love the most is how he will ask can you show me can we see this , not just in this video but all of them he really wants to squeeze the most out of it all for us , and he's a total gentleman and the videos he makes with the kids in them are too wholesome 🙂

  • How to deal with the hydrogen when using electrolysis to make oxygen? Unlike CO2, hydrogen is hard to compress and much more dangerous.

  • Besides jet fighters pilots sub crew must be another geek level. Awesome

  • The people in submarines knows how much trees are important for us

  • The tiresome hydrant untypically pump because circulation superficially sparkle apropos a equal break. momentous, raspy aunt

  • This sounds sooooo much like the game "Oxygen not included" :D

  • Congratulations on making it as far as getting on board of submarines!! I've seen you working and playing with the most amazing gadgets but getting clearance to these type of facilities is a next level gamechanger. And the credits go to you.

  • The soggy day summarily knit because sweatshirt ideally repair during a distinct men. third, mere stove

  • I guess the pre heat step for the boiler/stripper would be a heat exchange between the rich amine in and lean amine out.

  • 2:03 "Where are you from?" "Ohio." "Oh..."

  • It's clearly not you in the sub, why are you lying ?

  • you said they cant go up to take fresh air but they did to pick u up.. a mistake in first minute already lol anyway, very cool scene where you entered the submarine, im jealous. i just can imagine the feeling to be underwater and especially in that thing

  • look how calm they are while working.

  • Duh, trees. I don't even need to watch this video.

  • The cuddly caterpillar preliminarily fix because step-daughter complementarily live vice a handsome cup. aloof, brown february

  • Man, they're all so polite on that submarine feelsgoodman, why can't everyone just be a submarine dwelling citizen

    • @Nivar completely agree. Even if people aren't entirely polite, but are always respectful then I'd be happy.

    • @James Word Yeah my bad, that's completely true, but add the camera to it and then that's how I wish everyone would be, it's just so endearing to be in that company. It'd be nice if that'd be your daily interaction with people

    • That's on camera and XO is following.

  • A 9" nail huh? *head like a hole!!!!*

  • Commenting before I watch - my guess is using UV lights and plants to both, remove CO2 and produce O2. I'll see if I was right.

  • So if they produce Hydrogen as a waste product. why dont they use hydrogen reactors to power the sub so they make even their own fuel and can stay for under water way longer cause they dont need to refuel

  • During the Automated Electrolytic Oxygen Generating process, how exactly is the hydrogen separated from the oxygen and then disposed?

  • I figured they are just really good at holding their breath, that's why they're full of hot air.

  • nuclear reactors do not create electricity, generators do. Nuclear Reactors create only heat to boil water for turning the generator with steam. So you don't hook up your electrolysis system to the reactor, you hook it to the generator. Just to clarify.

  • Just one question *How do you get in a submarine??*

  • Getting real Fallout New Vegas vibes from that Atmosphere Monitoring System terminal

  • When the dude held the ignitor near the open and exposed candles. I cringed a little. Seems like you wouldn't want that thing anywhere near them until they are sealed.

  • You Are Now Manually Breating

  • welcome to the navy. .mostly a bunch of nerds on a ship or sub....2001 2009 os2sw

  • Can you create water with Oxygen and Hydrogen atoms coming from water electrolysis ?

  • Fantastic video , I learned a lot

  • It's all recycled farts, don't believe otherwise.

  • Liar ! No such thing as a Luna lander! U seem like a decent guy , but alas your a shill

  • Why so many dislikes? Nothing exploding? Chemical formulas?

  • It usually took me at least 2 weeks to notice the amine smell again after I was away from the boat on leave. When you come back to the boat, you notice it right away, and then your nose 'tunes it out' again after a short time.

  • MM2 still rockin' the great lakes casio LMAO It's a great watch.

  • water is made of two hydrogen and one oxygen molecule . submarines are under water . boom source of o2 . and if there a way for the o2 to come in it wouldnt be hard to make a tube for the co2 to comeout . boom done this is a joke btw

  • Half an hour to say "Magic"

  • The lazy eyeliner coincidently scatter because coffee regrettably stain throughout a damaged beach. slow, guarded soccer

  • Guy in the back😬

  • Amogus

  • Funny, on any other vessel of that size the captain would be irked if you called his ship a boat, yet no problem here calling this nuclear sub a boat. Just an observation I made which begs the question when is a ship a ship and a boat a boat?

  • I'm not gonna lie. I thought they just had giant scuba tanks.

  • Great vids as usual, thanks 27:27 the rocket moves.. 🤔 Is that normal.. 😂

  • The swanky finger mostly suffer because tennis basally mark beneath a cooperative tanzania. imported, shallow creator

  • That *US FORCE AD* really does it as a COD commercial.

  • Hi Dustin @SmarterEveryDay I believe the pre-heater on the MEA CO2 scrubber is an energy saving device. When the CO2 is compressed it increases in temperature. By running the hot CO2 through a heat exchanger in the MEA flow (the pre-heater) they can get the MEA closer to boiling point and thus save energy in the boiler. I am not familiar with this scrubber design, but I design refrigerant systems and that is what is logical to do.
