  • So we don't know what the measurements of light, the true nature of gravity, nor the substance that is dark matter. The law of the universe is the definition of "the more I know, the more I don't know."

  • I don't know about investing too much money into it. I get the feeling lots of lonely house wives will mis use this technology lol

  • The archaeology PhD student seemed so genuinely happy that the robot let them see those inaccessible sites :) Great to see people doing what they love.

  • Bernoulli is wild

  • a

  • so my new robot is a wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man. That sounds amazing!

  • This would've been great to rescue those kids trapped underground that got rescued by that guy Musk called Pedo Dude

  • measure Far distance astronomical event at earth and mars. or Sun's event when earth and mars are exact opposite ??

  • I mean this has been used to resleeve plumbing for a long time

  • but with this 3:07 can it still do this 0:48 ?

  • Ok wow... I dont know how i can easily precieve whats happening here. Let me help you... Try imagining the blue colour anf a drawing on a card. Do not precieve it as a 3d shape.

  • I was born with a vine robot.

  • What if instead of measuring from two fixed points, one on Earth and one on the Moon - both of which are NOT moving at the same speed - the measurements are taken between a fixed point on say, Earth and a geostationary satellite in space?

  • Ok wow... I dont know how i can easily precieve whats happening hete.

  • "Vine robots" sounds a lot better than "dick robots", good call.

  • Quantum entanglement

  • Wait? Does Mars have an atmosphere? Doesn't The robot need an atmosphere to work? To blow in gas?

  • Wouldn’t this be like a amazing for a doctor oct arm

  • This would be good for putting out fires.

  • in very special cases i see their use against a self moving robot with no stationary compressor but in the majority of i.e. s&r missions i don't realy see their advantage. very interesting stuff never the less

  • He lost all credibility when he started using PSI and inches

  • The best designs are already around us: nature!

  • You are awesome Derek.. The video is super insightful.!! Do you think youtube should add star rating for videos?. like amazon products?. or that might again change the algorithm and shift the ever evolving content?

  • I used to do that during Holi haha we used to have that things phiskari like a hand pump...

  • Interviewing The Wicked Bill.. He even picks Big Pharma! Ironic

  • But if the original "kilogram"'s density is changing, then we may just have to balance 2 of them under the same circumstances and then they would change always the same way. So it could still define kg. Or am I missing something?

  • Great..🙌🙌🙌♥️♥️

  • Cool

  • Where did the idea come from? "Well while I was visiting japan I saw uhh... some vines... yah thats it, they grew or something... Thats believable right?" yah sure, unrelated but you wouldnt mind if I take a look at your internet search history... would you?

  • I find it hilarious how robotics people try not to say how great the sex toy applications would be

  • I remember seeing a older video of this, it's not new as a concept, but it's nice seeing it again.

  • bloodworms do this.

  • What do the women think? XD

  • Hand me that robot thing But sir its not for sale HAND ME THAT ROBOT

  • What happens when an Unstoppable Robot meets an Immovable robot?

  • How do we link this to a plc

  • Unblock pipes/toilets

  • If nothing else interesting happens to me today, at least I watched this. Thank you

  • This thing violated green teletubby

  • What they did with the vine is called biomimetics and is a popular new field of research :)

  • Morning Brew sounds like the kind of dystopian thought control every faceless corporation would love you to have, no need to think for yourself or do any research just trust the company not to be manipulating your opinion with leading topics and framing. "oooh a boba shortage" what kind of BS first world problem is that to have when there are people homeless and starving on the streets of your own damn country. you're such a smug prick sometimes.

  • Very nice vid

  • Rule 34 exists

  • This can be used in plumbing.

  • wait a minute is that my town's college?

  • Damn how many tremor movies are there

  • Wait, this is 10 yr old video. Why was it on my youtube recommendations in 2021

  • Damn this reminds me of my Di-

  • "And what else can you think of to do with it?" Maybe a cheaper design for an endoscope? Crawlspace inspection? Improved snake animatronics?

  • 9:56 lmao that bird in the background looks like a squirrel running on water

  • Use it to build a space elevator

  • my bwain hurts qwq

  • Could be an awesome tool for Fire fighters and EMS.

  • Gravity: yo, you know I influence light, right?

  • What if you where to send the signal from perfectly in between both clocks so that way when the signal hits the clocks at the same time because the signal will take the same time to get to both and when the signal hits it will start and fire the beam

  • Use this to build a space elevator.

  • Can we respect the fact that there building snake robots

  • oh it cant be real, but watch its real. INSTEAD look at these cars.

  • I use LastPass 👌

  • This is fishy........

  • We all know where the idea for this robot came from ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

  • i don’t know wether i’m more amazed at vine robots or at your pijamas

  • Honestly impressive that you didn't make one of the hundreds of sex jokes these things can produce

  • Imagine being stuck in a building and then seeing bunch of tentacles heading to you

  • fast forward to an apocalypse and I can see no place on Earth safe enough against pore-bots. Autonomous worm like cybernetic organisms that inflitrate humans through the skin pores and kill you from inside your blood stream. Pro tip: if your fellow bunk-mate's nose bleeds... Run.

  • I’m pretty sure sometimes I kinda just hear the blood flowing through my head and I don’t even notice it

  • Put a camera with trillion fps in front of a laser amd check how many frames were needed to see the light. Should work.

  • I was watching vsauses which way is down video, a video that I have seen several time before, but only then had I realized that he actually was saying that gravity doesn’t exist. Now joking, I kept saying that to may sister and friends, “gravity doesn’t exist” just to see what their reaction would be. I kept going down the rabbit hole and now I’m here, watching a veritasium video that I’ve never seen before saying tha gravity doesn’t exist. I love this world

  • There should be rapid growth of crops and hence dilution of nutrients because of fertilizers as well. I dont know why this point was skipped for fertilizers.

  • May I talk to you sir. I’m from Africa and I’m puzzled by the type of freedom that is here in America specially in schools.

  • 💯💯💯

  • Going back to the search and rescue operations: The camera is the most expensive part that actually goes _into_ the building, and since you don't need amazing video quality, if you sent 100 vines in, you'd only lose a little over 1k for the mission. And that's assuming you couldn't recover ANY of the vines.

  • Wat da hell am i thinking

  • Is that a condobot-inator

  • I feel like the term "robot" is being used a bit liberally here.

  • Me as a veteran weeb: I have seen better.

  • 2021

  • The world spins, the world wobbles, the world moves around the sun in a spiral. Measure the return speed of light every second for a year. Is there a variance?

  • What about red-shift, which has been seen in every direction? Isn‘t this a clear indicator that light travels at the same speed?
